What this one
actually does
Three questions we answer on every hat before you buy it. A hat that cannot answer all three is not listed at all.

Rain
Unstiffened felt has the least resistance to water of anything we make. Wet through, it will lose the crown shape entirely. Dry it upside down in shade with paper in the crown and reshape it by hand as it dries.

Crushing
Made to be rolled. Roll it brim outward into a loose coil and it opens back to shape within about an hour. Rolling repeatedly along the same line will eventually mark the crown.

Shedding
New wool felt releases loose surface fibre for the first two to three weeks. Brush the crown and brim in one direction with a soft brush after each wear until it settles. On dark clothing you will see the fibre before it stops.
About this hat
No stiffener in the body at all. Roll it brim outward, put it in a bag, and open it back out at the other end. It takes about an hour to settle back to shape.
Because there is no stiffener, the crown shape is whatever you last pinched into it.
