What this one
actually does
Three questions we answer on every hat before you buy it. A hat that cannot answer all three is not listed at all.

Rain
The fitted band is leather or grosgrain and behaves exactly as the hat body it is fitted into. Water changes the band's circumference slightly as it dries; the fit returns once it is fully dry in shade.

Crushing
A fitted band adds no rigidity. Whether the hat can be folded or rolled is decided entirely by the hat body you fit it to.

Shedding
The band itself does not shed. A felt packing strip is used behind it on reductions and can release a little fibre inside the crown in the first week.
About this hat
Add this to any hat body and we fit the inner band to the circumference you measured, in 0.1 cm steps, rather than rounding you to the nearest centimetre. The hat body itself is unchanged; what changes is the band that actually touches your head.
Read this part before you add it: if your measurement lands inside a standard size, Head Fit will tell you so and you should not buy this. We would rather sell you a standard hat than a fitting you do not need.
Once we begin building a fitted band to your measurement, this item is made to your specification and the right of withdrawal no longer applies to it, or to the hat body it is fitted to. That exclusion is confirmed with a separate tick box at checkout.

- Dry the hat upside down in shade. Never dry the band with heat.
- Brushing
- Wipe the band with a dry cloth. Do not brush leather.

- Store the hat upside down or in a box so the band keeps its circumference.
