A new leather band darkens on its first soaking and stays darker. This is the leather, not a fault.

Neither leather nor grosgrain sheds. Nothing to brush out.
About this hat
The sweatband is the part of a felt hat that fails first, because it takes all the sweat, all the oil and all the friction. Replacing it costs a fraction of replacing the hat.
Send us the hat, choose leather or grosgrain, and we remove the old band and stitch in a new one at the same circumference — or at a new one, if your measurement has changed.
We keep the parts to do this for at least ten years after a model leaves the catalogue.

- Let the band dry naturally in shade after wear. Never with heat.
- Brushing
- Wipe with a dry cloth along the band, not across it.
- Storage
- Store the hat upside down so the band is not resting under the hat's weight.
